Visitors can walk along a boardwalk, view photos and read about the various non-profit activities around the world. Many of the activities involve empowering woman by providing educational services, and resources such as seeds for gardens or textiles for weaving.
The island contains recreations of actual places, a marketplace for purchasing goods, tents, boats, and meeting areas.
Mabawa's village Nyamyumba, Rwanda
One area of the island contains a reproduction of a real school and farm. The inhabitants of this Real Life village are survivors of the genocide that ended in 1994.
